If you are looking for HVAC training focused on real residential systems, Interactive College of Technology offers hands-on instruction designed to prepare students for entry-level technician roles.

The Residential HVAC program covers the maintenance and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems used in homes. Students build practical skills, prepare for industry certifications, and gain real-world experience to help them get started in the skilled trades.

A school externship is a part of this program and assigns you to a partnering company for 135 hours, giving the student the opportunity to put his/her new skills to use and gain real-life career training experience. Plus, after you graduate, our Lifetime Career Placement Support program will be there to help you find work whenever you need it. 

This HVAC program is approved for VA Benefits. This program is currently offered at the Pasadena, TX and Newport, KY.

What You Learn in the HVAC Residential Program at ICT

Externship Experience

Students complete a 135-hour school externship with a partnering company. This experience allows students to apply what they’ve learned in a real work environment, observe experienced technicians, and develop job-ready skills before graduation.

Industry Exposure

Training includes work with residential systems as well as an introduction to light refrigeration concepts, helping students build a broader technical foundation.

Certification Preparation

This program helps students prepare for important industry certifications that support career readiness.

  • EPA 608 Certification – Focuses on proper refrigerant handling and environmental safety
  • NATE Certification Knowledge – Builds technical understanding recognized throughout the HVAC industry
