Information Technology Specialist Diploma
The Information Technology Specialist diploma program prepares the student to begin a career in the service and maintenance of both industrial and consumer computer products. The student will develop a basic understanding of the personal computer, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of related equipment. Hands-on skills are highly emphasized. The student develops the knowledge and skills needed to operate and service computer and network equipment. The IT diploma program is focused on industry standards and includes preparation for several CompTIA and Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) certification exams.
As with all programs of study at ICT, this program includes an externship with a partnering company near the campus for 135 hours. This gives the student the opportunity to put their new skills to use and gain real-life career training. Students also learn the employment-seeking skills necessary to successfully enter the market.
With the ICT Information Technology Specialist Diploma, a graduate can expect an entry level position earning between $26,740 and $37,800, which is in line with the national average according to www.salary.com in 2017.
