Business Information Systems
The Business Information Systems (BIS) program is available at all Interactive College of Technology campuses, both as an associate degree (area of emphasis) or short-term diploma program of study. Both BIS programs prepare students for employment in a variety of professional business settings.
The BIS program is constructed to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and training for the most popular computer applications and software. Students acquire skills that are critical to the successful day-to-day creation, usage, sharing, and management of data for many types of enterprises.
By focusing on professionalism and software proficiency, the BIS program enables a student to pursue a variety of career pathways including project management, desktop publishing, business graphics, web design, database management, sales/customer service support, business schematics and more.

The Business Information Systems diploma program also includes classes to prepare students for a Microsoft Office Specialist Certification in any of the Microsoft Office components, which is a requirement for graduation.
As with all programs at ICT, each BIS program include an externship. Our externship program is designed to give students the opportunity to put their new skills to use and to gain real-world experience in their chosen field of study. ICT partners with well-known organizations and industry leaders. For 135 hours, our students are able to get on-the-job training that often leads to a full-time job offer. ICT is one of the few schools that offer this as part of a student’s training in every program of study. This is an excellent opportunity in preparation for a career in any professional environment.
