The Administrative Support System diploma program offers the student a wide foundation in the general knowledge, practices, and procedures required to work effectively in today’s modern automated office. The area of emphasis component includes courses on key office skills and advanced office applications. The general education component is designed to enhance the student’s knowledge and awareness of significant issues in the workplace and in the student’s personal development. The career objective for this program is to give the graduates the general knowledge and specific skills needed to obtain entry-level employment in most businesses.
Included in this office administration support diploma program are such popular administrative assistant courses as Microsoft Word, Microsoft, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, and more, equipping the graduate to go well beyond basic clerical/secretarial positions.
This program includes Microsoft Certification in any of the MOS (Microsoft Office Specialist) components taken to satisfy graduation requirements.
As with all programs at ICT, this program includes an externship. An Externship is a program component that assigns a student to a partnering company for 135 hours, giving the student the opportunity to put his/her new skills to use and gain real-life career training. ICT is one of the few schools that offer this as part of a student’s training in every program of study.
